The second Summit Meeting on Chemical Regulations in Asia Pacific (SMCR 2016) was held successfully on October 18-19, in Hangzhou. We jointly hosted the summit meeting with the Japan Environmental Management Association for Industry (JEMAI) and Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR). During the summit, officials and experts from the China Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP), Shanghai Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau (Shanghai CIQ), National Registration Center for Chemicals of SAWS (NRCC), the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Ministry of Environment (MOE) gave presentations and discussed the development trend of global chemical regulations. The summit attracted delegates from over 120 enterprises including AkzoNobel, DSM, P&G, Bayer, Shell, BMW-Brilliance, Michelin, Merck, Lubrizol, Wuxi AppTec, Vinda, Eastman, Ashland, and Sumitomo (Tianjin).
